Spell checkers and robotic software also miss mistakes or introduce errors into the manuscript. I proofread and edit your book so that you can be assured it is ready for publication.
I offer a very human approach to editing. I do not just skim through your work or depend on AI to search for errors. I take time to read your work with precision —

Copyediting is most commonly confused with proofreading. As a copyeditor, I do not simply fix grammatical or spelling mistakes. I also offer suggestions to create better flow and clarity of sentence structure.
I proofread for common English and grammar mistakes such as:
- Grammar and punctuation errors
- Incorrect word use, missing words, repetitious words
- Missing prepositions or articles
- Singular/plural subject-verb agreement
- Incorrect verb form or tense
- Spelling and capitalization
As a copyeditor, I work on some of the same issues as a proofreader.
Additionally, I:
- Offer suggestions to improve readability of manuscript
- Fact check
- Double-check consistency of actions
- Check for correct sequence of chapter and page number
- Double-check the table of contents, footnotes, bibliography, etc. (if applicable)
